Kimberley Immersion Program

Kimberley Immersion Program 2022 5:45

The Kimberley Immersion Program is one of The University of Notre Dame – Fremantle’s most popular and successful rural immersion opportunities for medical students. In 2022, the immersion was hosted in a hybrid format, with students spending 4 days and 3 nights camping in Derby.

While the students were unable to billet with local families across the Kimberley as had occurred in the past, they were able to participate in a range of local experiences that make the Kimberley one of the most unique communities in the world.

Enjoy the wonderful Kimberley visuals and hear how this rural immersion has become so instrumental in luring young doctors back to the bush!

Each year, medical students at the University of Notre Dame Australia (Fremantle) spend a week living and working in one of Australia’s most remote regions: the Kimberley. The experience provides the students with incredible insight into remote communities and the people who call the Kimberley their home.
